It has been a while since the last touchscreen laptop review. This time we will talk about Touchsmart TM2. So what is the TouchSmart TM2?

The TouchSmart is HP’s convertible tablet PC laptop. It can converts from a normal looking laptop to a tablet (and vice versa).

The laptop come with Windows 7′s great support for tablet features, ready for extensive touch operation and navigation.

The TM2 is now sold with an Intel Core i3 and i5 ULV CPUs. The HP TouchSmart TM2 weighs 4.72 lbs. which is quite heavy compared to its many 4 lbs. competitors.

The TouchSmart has a 12.1″ LED backlit gloss HP BrightView display. This laptop come with a Wacom digitizer which is supports both 2-finger multi-touch via the capacitive layer.

It also has an active digitizer input using the included pen. This Wacom digitizer supports pressure sensitivity in most of graphic applications like Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Corel Painter 11.

The TouchSmart TM2 has 3 USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI port, VGA port, a 5-in-1 card reader slot and 3.5mm stereo 4 conductor headphone/mic.

The TM2 features Intel WiFi 802.11b/g/n and 10/100 Ethernet, optional Bluetooth, and WWAN broadband that you can chose (Gobi, Verizon, AT&T or Sprint).

The TM2 can last up to 5 hours using the balanced power setting, medium brightness, and active WiFi. Use for office task (WiFi off), it can last 7 hours respectively.

TouchSmart come with several installed software (most of them are very useful, but some of them are bloatware). The HP’s softwares are very graphical, easy to use, and touch friendly.

The HP TM2 runs cool and quiet. The tablet come with Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Operating System, Windows 7 Professional is optional. HP TouchSmart software, Hulu and Netflix desktop apps.

Other applications: BumpTop (3D desktop software), Microsoft Touch Pack for Windows 7 (MS Surface applications that work with the touch screen), Cyberlink DVD software, Corel Paint Touch application.
